K.R. Medical Educational and Charitable Trust, Nalattinputhur, K.R. Nagar, Kovilpatti launched LAKSHMI AMMAL SPORTS ACADEMY (LASA) in 2009 for both men and women under the age group of 14, 17 & 21. LASA was established in the memory of Smt. Lakhmi Ammal, beloved mother of KALVITHANTHAI THIRU K. RAMASAMY, Former Chairman, K.R. Educational Institutions, K.R. Medical Educational and Charitable Trust.
The academy is presently being operated on the Campus of Lakshmi Ammal Polytechnic College, K.R. Educational Institutions, K.R. Nagar, Kovilpatti.
K.R. Medical Educational and Charitable Trust in association with K.R. Educational institutions have been successfully conducting the Lakshmi Ammal Memorial All India Hockey Tournament since 2009 under the Grade B Tournament.
The Academy aims to provide advanced modern Training to promote the game of Hockey in the region. The academy organizes coaching youngsters, conducting various tournaments, organizing special Hockey Training Camps, deputing players to participate various outside tournaments etc.

LAKSHMI AMMAL 11TH ALL INDIA HOCKEY TOURNAMENT- 2019
All India Hockey tournaments held on 11 days, 16 various states best teams headed to play. The matches held at League System up to Quarter final and Knockout system followed for Quarter finals, Semi finals and Final under flood lights.
